Sidma Romania focuses on iron trade, through the operation of its integrated Steel Service Center. It includes processing steel coils of various quality levels, to be transformed into a variety of final forms based on its clients` special needs.
The cutting and slitting lines are one of the main advantages in order to satisfy a wide range of needs.
In Bucharest, we have three processing lines dedicated to hot rolled, cold rolled and hot deep galvanized material, up to 8 mm, inclusively as follows:
- Hot Rolled- Cut-to-length line
- Thickness 2÷8 mm, width 500-2000 mm
- Cold Rolled & Galvanized - Cut-to-length line sau standard
- Thickness 0,3÷3 mm, width 400-1500 mm
- Cold Rolled & Galvanized- Slitting Line
- Thickness 0,3÷3 mm, width 16-1240 mm
Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon mainly, other chemical elements additionally. Carbon-steel history starts at mid-19-th century, but with the invention of Henry Bessemer in 1856 a new era of mass-production has began. He was followed by Siemens-Martin and then Gilchrist-Thomas was the one who refined the quality of steel. In Romania, 1771 is the reference year for Reşiţa Mill. Consistent steel industry was completed with Oţelul Roşu in 1869, Hunedoara in 1884, Galaţi in 1968 and Cãlãraşi in 1969. The Romanian production was fuelling 35 countries, European especially.
